Birdseeds Mostly Unchanged
PANAMA - Aug 23/19 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were generally unchanged in limited trading activity during the past week.
For the fourth week in a row, oil type sunflower markets in the United States set new highs for that country's 2018-19 marketing campaign, reflecting tight supplies on farms and in the hands of processors.
Commenting on this year's sunflower crop, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association notes, "Sunflower prices are not facing the headwinds some other commodities are currently experiencing as there is robust market demand for seed. The need for seed has also helped boost new crop prices for NuSun and high oleic to market highs this week as well.
