Firmer Undertone in Birdseeds
PANAMA - Nov 26/16 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading with a generally firm undertone, despite indications Canadian canaryseed production will be higher than forecast by Statistics Canada in September.
Market tone was helped by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announcement of the 2017 biofuel mandates.
It wants to see the volume of cellulosic biofuel increase from 230 to 312 million gallons; while biomass-based diesel increases from 1,99 million to 2,000 million in 2017 and 2,100 million in 2018. Advanced biofuel targets increase from 3,610 to 4,000 million gallons and renewable fuel from 18,110 to 18,800 million gallons.
