Bulk Pea Export Pace Improves

VANCOUVER - Feb 24/15 - SNS -- The pace of field pea exports showed improvement in January, with unofficial data from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) showing a solid increase from the port clearances in December and the same month last year.

Unofficial data suggests almost 145,900 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded to bulk conventional vessels from licensed terminals and directly primary elevators in January, compared to 128,400 MT the same month last year.

Bulk conventional port clearances experienced month over month declines since peaking at 559,400 MT in September. Clearances dropped to a low of 110,500 MT in December.
