Mixed Week For Field Peas
VANCOUVER - Feb 13/15 - SNS -- North American field peas markets were unchanged to easier with markets in the United States hurt by logistical issues and Canadian markets experiencing a short term slowing in movement.
The world export price index for pulses was helped by strength in Canadian markets, advancing 1.6 points to finish the week at 173.6. Canada's special crop index gained 1.9 points to finish the week at 186.3.
Logistical issues remain a challenge for the industry, with shippers in both Canada and the United States facing railcar shortages and limited fobbing capacity in ports.
