French Pea Exports Improve
VANCOUVER - Feb 13/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France improved in December, but remain well below the quantity shipped the same month the previous year, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 13,205 metric tons (MT), up 70% from the 7,815 MT shipped the previous month, but down 32% from the 19,625 MT shipped the same month last year. Shipments so far this season are down 43% at 58,815 MT.
Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Italy and Denmark. No field pea shipments were reported to Egypt or the Indian subcontinent.
