Birdseeds Hold Firm Tone
VANCOUVER - Feb 6/15 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week with a generally firmer undertone as offers from growers slipped behind the short term needs of the market.
Oil-type sunflower showed the biggest advances of the week rising in sympathy with soybean and canola, both of which posted significant week over week gains.
Expectations the USDA will lower its soybean ending stock forecast for the United States added strength to the oilseed complex. This added strength to birdseed bids, which have been outperforming crush markets for sunflower in recent weeks.
