Demand Rationing Seen For Yellow Peas
VANCOUVER - Feb 6/15 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets registered a mixed performance on the week in response Statistics Canada's latest stocks in all positions report.
Overall inventories of field peas are at their lowest level since 2007. It is also the first time since that year that there were less than two million metric tons (MT) available to cover outstanding demand for the January through July period.
Export trade data in the Platinum version of STAT, however, makes it clear that stocks of yellow peas are significantly tighter relative to prospective demand than green peas.
