Markets Wanted Bigger U.S. Pea Crop

VANCOUVER - Nov 15/14 - SNS -- The potential for bigger final field pea production estimates had little impact on markets, which need supplies to increase to cover prospective demand.

The latest USDA crop report found that field pea production in the United States was up 7% over last year at just over 756,000 metric tons (MT).

Combined with a relatively large carry-over from the previous season, available supplies are up 16% at a record 846,418 MT.
