Field Peas Maintain Firm Tone
VANCOUVER - Nov 8/14 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against ongoing export movement and improved inquiry from buyers outside the Indian subcontinent.
This was reflected in improved grower bids for Canadian yellow peas, which have been the focus of demand. Export movement during the third quarter of the 2014 calendar year was exceptionally strong.
Canada officially exported 1.19 million metric tons (MT) of mainly yellow peas during the quarter, 25% above the previous record of 951,533 MT set in 2010.
