Field Pea Export Movement Slows

VANCOUVER - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were little changed in light inter-dealer and export trading activity.

There is evidence that the pace of export movement is experiencing a short term slow down, with line elevator companies not aggressively trying to secure product from growers. Grower deliveries were down the last week of June and first week of July.

For their part, some growers are worrying about their crops because a large proportion of the land in Saskatchewan is suffering from excess moisture. This will limit the amount of land harvested in eastern crop districts in the province.
