Birdseeds Worry About Fate of Acres
VANCOUVER - Mar 28/14 - SNS -- North American birdseed markets finished the week on a modestly easier note, reflecting recent currency fluctuations and an effort by major markets to even up before Monday's USDA seeding intentions report.
Markets expect to see a net increase in land in corn, soybeans and wheat; with losses in corn area more than offset by gains in soybeans.
This has birdseed markets somewhat nervous about the potential for smaller millet seed plantings and a lackluster recovery in land in other birdseed ingredients.
