AgCanada Expects 130,000 MT Mustard Crop

WINNIPEG - Jul 20/13 - SNS -- In its latest monthly review of Canadian mustard seed Agriculture Canada's market analysis branch in Winnipeg predicts production will total 130,000 MT from 341,000 acres this year, compared to 119,000 MT last year. It is important to note Agriculture Canada's estimated production is not an official number.

Agriculture Canada forecasts exports will reach 115,000 MT this season and 115,000 MT in the coming marketing year. Domestic use is forecast at 37,000 MT this season and 35,000 MT next season.

Season ending stocks are forecast to finish the 2012-13 season at 50,000 MT and the 2013-14 season at 30,000 MT.

Agriculture Canada expects grower bids to average between $785 and $795 MT in 2012-13 and between $790 and $820 MT for all classes in 2013-14.
