Green Peas Maintain Record Prices
VANCOUVER - Jan 25/13 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the weeks trading on a relatively strong note, with whole and split green peas leading markets upward.
Green pea markets are at record levels in both grower and inter-dealer markets in Canada. Prior to 2012, the record high grower bid for Canadian green peas was CDN $11.75 per bushel or roughly 432 per metric ton (MT).
Since January of 2012, bids have been $440 MT or higher half the time, now sitting at their historic high of $15.50 per bushel or roughly $570 MT for farmers dressed product.
