France Pea Export Pace Remains Slow
VANCOUVER - Jan 8/13 - SNS -- Field pea export movement from France managed a modest improvement in November, but total movement since the start of the country's marketing year are down 60.5% from the same five-month period last year, judging from data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments in November totalled 13,970 metric tons (MT), up 37.6% from the 10,155 shipped in October, and below the 14,790 MT shipped the same month last year. This lifts export shipments so far this marketing year to 55,395 MT, compared to 140,075 MT during the same period last season.
Europe destinations remained the most important during the month, accounting for 99.3% of total field pea exports.
