Few Changes in Peas

VANCOUVER - Oct 5/12 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading little changed, helped by a reduction in the forecast size of the Canadian harvest.

While production will be up over last year, it is not by the margin initially expected. The cut is also making markets more receptive to comments from some processors that yields may end up lower by the time of the final crop report in December.

While supportive to prices, there was not much reaction in grower or inter-dealer markets, because of underlying worries about the depth of demand from the Indian subcontinent during the first half of 2013.
