Field Pea Markets QuietVANCOUVER - Jul 20/12 - SNS -- International field pea markets remained relatively quiet during the past week, with markets waiting to see if bullish market conditions for grains and oilseeds affect grower selling attitudes. While grower bids for field peas and other pulses have been flat to weaker over the past month, farmers have seen prices for corn, wheat, soybeans and canola rocket upwards. Those markets are affected by the widening drought in the United States, dryness in Russia, and a good demand profile from food and biofuel markets. Over the past month, the late fall deliver contract for corn has jumped 43%, soybeans 23%, canola 12%, Minneapolis spring wheat 31% and ICE durum 23%.
