Pea Export Movement Down in JuneVANCOUVER - Jul 3/12 - SNS -- Bulk conventional exports of pulses and other specialty crops from Canada declined in June, dropping below both year earlier levels and month earlier levels. During the month, exporters loaded four ships at Vancouver with 109,032 metric tons (MT) of peas and 27,408 MT of lentils. Exporters did not load any specialty crops and pulses to vessels in Thunder Bay during the month. Looking forward, movement may be down from last year in July. So far, exporters have nominated one vessels to lift 15,750 MT of peas. Last year, five ships loaded 87,724 MT of peas and 20,415 MT of lentils.
