USDA Buys for 14,960 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Jun 30/12 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 14,960 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid. In releasing result of the tender, the USDA said it rejected offers for 1,360 MT of peas, yellow, whole bag-50 kg; and 500 MT of peas, yellow, split bag-50 kg because of price. It also said it did not receive offers for 3,020 MT of peas, yellow, whole bag-50 kg; nor for 130 MT of peas, yellow, split bag-50 kg. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200001113 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags. In releasing the tender invitation, the USDA said, "Peas and Lentils Section 1.1 C has been added to Commodity Requirements Document PL6 as follows: Yellow peas may grade U.S. No 3 based on damage (other than weevil-damage or heat damage)."
