USDA Tenders for 19,970 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Jun 19/12 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 19,970 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200001113 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags.
In releasing the tender invitation, the USDA said, "Commodities purchased by FSA on or after June 15, 2012, may be stored or handled only by facilities licensed under the United States Warehouse Act (USWA). . . . Peas and Lentils Section 1.1 C has been added to Commodity Requirements Document PL6 as follows: Yellow peas may grade U.S. No 3 based on damage (other than weevil-damage or heat damage)."
