Near Record Average Pea Prices
VANCOUVER - Apr 14/12 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading little changed as limited stocks continues to hamper the ability of processors and exporters to pursue old crop business.
Spot market values remain at the upper end of their historic range. So far this season, Canadian yellow pea markets have averaged U.S. $394 per metric ton for bulk product on a delivered track Vancouver basis,
This is the only the third time season average prices have exceeded $300 MT in the past 25 years, and just $4 below the record high season average price recorded in 2007-08.
