Peas Firm Against Tight Inventories
VANCOUVER - Mar 24/12 - SNS - Field pea markets finished the week's trading mostly unchanged against the general belief that inventories are already depleted.
Canadian markets were helped by continued business in both green and yellow peas, even if the trading volumes are large. U.S. markets were given a solid boost from the latest USDA PL-480 food aid tender for shipment from origin in May.
The USDA is seeking offers of 7,440 metric tons (MT) of split yellow peas and 1,740 MT of whole and split green peas.
