Firm one in Field Peas
VANCOUVER - Mar 16/12 - SNS -- North American field pea prices maintained their firm tone throughout the past week, with supplies available from exporters closely matching the short term needs of the market.
Though Canadian exports are slowing, they still appear to be on pace to exceed two million metric tons (MT) by the end of the marketing year.
Through the end of January, export shipments were down 314,000 MT from the same period last season, but at 1.33 million MT, shipments represent 64% of the season forecast.
