Mixed Week For Birdseeds
VANCOUVER- Jun 17/11 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient market posted a mixed performance during the past week as markets respond to general weakness in major grains and oilseeds.
This contributed to easing values for oil-type sunflower seed, but had no impact on confectionary sunflower seed markets, which were unchanged in light trade.
By contrast, markets for both Canadian canaryseed and U.S. origin white proso millet were firmer on the week, reflecting worries about the final seeded area for both crops.
