Disappointing November For Pea Exports

VANCOUVER - Dec 1/10 - SNS -- Canadian field pea exporters recorded a disappointing November, with a large number of nominated vessels sliding over into December.

Movement in November ended up at just 131,108 metric tons (MT), the first time since July that monthly bulk conventional exports have been under 200,000 MT. During November, exporters also shipped 8,300 MT of lentils via Thunder Bay, lifting total bulk conventional lentil exports to 37,323 MT so far this season.

Even so, the quantity of peas loaded through bulk terminals in August and November beat the previous high by roughly 81,000 metric tons (MT), with 928,400 MT of peas shipped the first four months of the marketing year.
