Moderate Gain In U.S. Pea Area
WASHINGTON - Mar 28/24 - SNS -- Growers intend to plant 974,000 acres of field peas in 2024, up 2% from 2023, in comparable states, according to the USDA's seeding intentions report.
Planted area is expected to increase in Nebraska and North Dakota. Beginning in 2024, dry edible pea estimates were discontinued in South Dakota. Also beginning in 2024, wrinkled seed peas and Austrian winter peas were removed from the dry edible pea estimates.
