Field Pea Exports From Canada Open With Strong Note
PANAMA - Mar 7/24 - SNS -- Started the current marketing year with a a stronger tone, with field pea shipments from Canada jumped compared to the previous month in January, according to the latest statistics from Statistics Canada.
The updated statistics showed exports for the month totalled 368,490 metric tons (MT), up 47% from 250,676 the previous month. Versus the same month last year, export sales were up 12% from 1,423,625 MT.
India was the number one destination, taking 249,933 MT. China was the second most important destination buying 40,677 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 36,153 MT.
