WASHINGTON - Jan 12/21 - SNS -- Production of lentils in the U.S. is estimated at 7.41 million cwt, up 40% from a year ago, according to the USDA's final crop report for 2020.
Planted area, at 528,000 acres, is up 9% from last year, while harvested acreage, at 514,000 acres, is up 21% from 2019. The average yield is expected to be 1,442 pounds per acre, up 192 pounds from last year.
