WASHINGTON - Nov 10/20 - SNS -- Production of sugarbeets for the 2020 crop year is forecast at 34.0 million tons, down 5% from last month but up 19% from last year, according to the latest USDA crop production estimates.
Sugarbeet producers expect to harvest 1.15 million acres, unchanged from the previous forecast but up 17% from 2019. Yield is forecast at 29.6 tons per acre, down 1.6 tons from the previous forecast but an increase of 0.4 ton from last year.
