WASHINGTON - Aug 12/20 - SNS -- Production of sugarbeets for the 2020 crop year is forecast at 35.4 million tons, up 24% from last year, according to the latest USDA crop production forecast.
Sugarbeet producers expect to harvest 1.13 million acres, unchanged from previous forecast but up 15% from last year. Expected yield is forecast at 31.4 tons per acre, an increase of 2.2 tons from last year.
