France Field Pea Sales Collapse in October
VANCOUVER - Dec 11/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France collapsed in October, according to data compiled by Terres Univia.
Export shipments during the month totalled 6,490 metric tons (MT), down 83% from the 38,125 MT shipped the previous month, and down 39% from the 10,640 MT shipped the same month last year.
Even so, season to date shipments are up significantly from last season, jumping from 37,705 to 116,115 MT this year for the four months spanning July through October.
The jump in year over year shipments reflects strong movement to India during the first three months of the 2015-16 marketing campaign. India took 75,541 MT of peas during the first three months of France's 2015-16 export campaign.
