Smaller Dry bean Crop in Canada

PANAMA - Dec 7/15 - SNS -- Dry edible bean production in Canada sank 15% below last year to an estimated 260,000 metric tons (MT), according to the final crop report of the year from Statistics Canada.

This is part of a general decline in dry edible bean output in North America in response to weakness in the values of some key classes grown in the region and disappointment over export movement.

This has markets more interested in the final production numbers for the United States. Those will be released on December 9, along with a break down of U.S. dry edible bean output by class.
