Pea Shipments Higher In October

WINNIPEG - Nov 19/15 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 264,600 metric tons (MT) field pea were loaded for export through licensed terminal and primary elevators which are required to report to it all grain movement in October.

The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports exports are up from the 207,900 MT shipped the same month last year but less than half the 587,800 MT loaded for export the previous month.

Movement in October is up from last year and maintains its new opening season record for bulk field pea shipments. Even so, exports will not set a new marketing year record in 2015-16 because of available supplies are down 554,000 MT from the previous season at an estimated 3.61 million MT.
