India Dominates French Pea Exports
VANCOUVER - Nov 9/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France continued at a strong pace through September, judging from data compiled by Terres Univia.
Export shipments during the month totalled 38,125 metric tons (MT), up 2% from the 37,285 MT shipped the previous month, and nearly quadruple the 7,835 MT shipped the same month last year.
The jump in year over year shipments reflects strong movement to India during the first three months of the 2015-16 marketing campaign. India took 27,280 MT of peas during the month. Italy was the second most important destination for the month, taking 4,540 MT of peas, followed by the Belgium, Nepal and Spain.
