French Pea Exports Remain Strong
VANCOUVER - Oct 8/15 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France maintained their strong pace through August, judging from data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 37,285 metric tons (MT), up 9% from the 34,130 MT shipped the previous month, and nearly triple the 13,455 MT shipped the same month last year.
The jump in year over year shipments reflects strong movement to India during the first two months of the 2015-16 marketing campaign. India took 23,261 MT of peas during the month. Belgium was the second most important destination for the month, taking 6,425 MT of peas, followed by the Netherlands, Italy and Pakistan.
