India Extends Duty Free Waiver
NEW DELHI - Oct 1/15 - SNS -- The Indian government has extended the duty free waiver for pulses until at least December 31.
The waiver for chickpeas and lentils has been extended until December 31. But the waiver for dry field peas other pulses will remain in effect until further notice.
Though expected, the decision adds some certainty to markets for lentil and chickpea export shipments leaving origin ports through at least the middle of November. Markets for other pulses see the wording as indicating the waiver will be in effect until at least March 31, 2016.
