China Was Net Pulse Buyer in 2014

VANCOUVER - Apr 29/15 - SNS -- For the second year in a row China was a net importer of pulses in 2014, according to data compiled in the Platinum edition of STAT.

Trade in pulses was down sharply during the 2014 calendar year, with exports falling 44% to just over 567,000 metric tons (MT) and imports sinking 23% to just over 817,000 MT.

This saw net pulse imports jump from almost 47,300 MT in 2013 to just under 250,000 MT last year. China was a net exporter of pulses until the 2013 calendar year. In 2012, China exported 367,000 MT more pulses than it imported.
