U.S. Bean Harvest Half Complete

WASHINGTON - Sep 30/14 - SNS -- Dry edible bean harvest activity remains behind normal throughout much of the United States, but national harvest progress is similar to last year, judging from the latest state level crop progress reports from USDA NASS reporters.

For the state's reporting harvest activity, a combined total of 59% of this year's anticipated dry edible bean harvest is now in the bin, compared to 54% at this time last year.

Farmers in North Dakota made significant harvest progress as drier and warmer conditions were experienced across most of the State. Temperatures averaged 9 to 15 degrees above normal. The week was dry, with the exception of Sunday, when some areas received limited rainfall.
