Dry Beans Transitioning to New Crop Prices

VANCOUVER - Sep 21/14 - SNS -- Trading activity increased on dry edible bean markets during the past week as North American prices began to transition into new crop pricing against good harvest progress in parts of the growing area.

This was reflected in a solid drop in the spot price index for U.S. pulses from almost 164 points to 154.4.

The U.S. crop has been in mostly good condition throughout the growing season, leading to optimism there will be adequate quantities of good quality product available in the coming season.
