61,000 Ton Apricot Crop

WASHINGTON - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- The 2014 apricot crop is forecast at 61,490 tons, according to the USDA 's latest crop production estimates.

The California crop represents 89% of the total United States production. Harvest in California began early due to warm spring and summer temperatures. Fruit set was reported to be variable with excellent quality.
