Peas Worried by Rabi Seeding Progress
VANCOUVER - Jan 11/14 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a slightly easier note with the finish of the December holiday season and growing interest in adding to business.
Markets were somewhat concerned by the fact rabi or winter season pulse area in India will set a new record this year.
As of January 10, farmers have planted 15.5 million hectares of pulses, well ahead of last year and the recent five-year average of 14.3 million hectares by this time of year.
