WASHINGTON - Jan 10/14 - SNS -- Production of all dry hay for 2013 is estimated at 136 million tons, down 3% from the August 1 forecast but up 13% from the 2012 total, according to the USDA's final production estimates for the 2013 crop.
Area harvested is estimated at 58.3 million acres, up 2% from the August 1 forecast and up 4% from last year. The average yield, at 2.33 tons per acre, is down 0.14 ton from August but up 0.20 ton from the previous year.
