Myanmar Pulse Exports Down on Year

WASHINGTON - Dec 18/13 - SNS -- Dry edible bean exports from Myanmar are down sharply from last year, with shipments between January and October down 30% from the from last year at 963,609 metric tons (MT).

Shipments in October ended up at 124,893 MT, up 13% from the same month last year and up 75% from the 71,274 MT shipped in September.

Of this total, 80% was exported to India, followed by Vietnam with 4%, and China with 3.5%. Matpe beans (black gram) accounted for 78% of total exports followed by Toor Whole at 17%, and Mung beans at 4%, respectively.
