USDA Buys 560 MT Beans
KANSAS CITY - Oct 27/11 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 560 metric tons (MT) of dark red kidney beans for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200000578 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags. Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between November 23 to December 14 and between December 14 to January 4 for plants located at port.
In releasing details of the tender result, the USDA said it did not buy 1,240 MT of pinto beans on account of a change in program requirements.
