North American Beans Stay Strong

VANCOUVER - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- Problems with this year's harvest in some key producing regions in North America continue to add strength to that region's arkets.

While the spot market index for U.S. origin beans closed 20 points higher on the week at 1661, the index for grower bids was only one point higher at 1550 points.

The changes are part of a broader trend which has seen the spread between prices offered to growers and prices asked by processors widen.
