More Normal Pea Movement Expected

VANCOUVER - May 24/14 - SNS -- Canadian field pea export movement is getting back to normal, with the Canadian Grain Commission data indicating 39,800 metric tons (MT) have been exported so far in May.

Clearances is expected to pick up significantly in June, with shippers reported fewer problems getting railcars to move product to port.

Even so, bulk field pea exports have fallen almost 317,000 MT behind this time last year at 1.32 million MT during the first 41 shipping weeks of the 2013-14 marketing campaign.
