Field Pea Export Pace Improving
VANCOUVER - May 16/14 - SNS -- Field pea markets were nominally unchanged to firmer against relatively light spot demand, but improving medium term demand from the Indian subcontinent and China.
India's third advance crop production estimates for 2013-14 had little impact on markets, though it reaffirmed the government's view production will set a new record this season.
The rabi gram or chickpea crop is now forecast to jump 1.1 million metric tons (MT) to 9.93 million this year.
