Canada's Pea Exports Ease in June
VANCOUVER - Jul 29/13 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 127,100 metric tons (MT) field pea were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in June. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports exports are up from the 109,900 MT shipped the same month last year but down from the 267,000 MT shipped the previous month. This lifted season to date exports to 1,913,000 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, versus 1,548,400 MT during the same period last season.
The 2011-12 marketing year finished with 1,605,800 MT of peas have been exported through terminals reporting to the CGC, versus 2,461,100 MT the previous season.
So far this calendar year, 1,137,500 MT of peas have been exported through bulk terminals, compared to 520,600 during the same period last season. Pea exports finished the 2012 calendar year at 1,353,500 MT, versus 2,316,900 in 2011 and 2,112,100 in 2010.
