Tender Boost U.S. Peas
VANCOUVER - Jul 27/13 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were little changed in relatively light trading conditions.
Markets in the United States were supported by the latest USDA PL-480 food aid tender, which is seeking 14,570 metric tons (MT) of split and 2,100 MT of whole yellow peas for September shipment from origin.
This is the first pea tender for shipment from origin during the 2013-14 marketing year. Last season ended with the USDA buying 82,810 MT of whole and split yellow peas and 5,500 MT of green.
