Peas Advance on Limited Grower Selling

VANCOUVER - Jun 8/13 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note as offers from growers fell behind the short term needs of processors and exporters.

Growers are still preoccupied with seeding and spring field work, which has made them less interested in participating in markets at this time.

Stocks are also clearly tightening in Canada. While export movement in April was almost half the quantity shipped in March, movement appears to have rebounded in May, helping clear any inventories farmers wanted to be certain to sell before the end of the marketing year.
