French Pea Exports Improve
VANCOUVER - Jun 7/13 - SNS -- The pace of field pea export movement from France continued to improve in April, rising above month-earlier, though remaining below year-earlier levels, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments in April totalled 23,415 metric tons (MT), up 17% from the 19,955 shipped in March, but less than half the 49,720 MT shipped the same month last year. This lifts export shipments so far this marketing year to 137,760 MT, compared to 253,235 MT during the same period last season.
Europe destinations remained the most important during the month, accounting for at least 99.7% of total field pea exports.
